"Blender Blues" is a song written by Bonnie Raitt in 1970 that has never
had an official studio release. The only known recording was a live show
radio broadcast on 2/22/1972 at Sigma Sound Studios' Rainbow Room in
Philadelphia PA. It was broadcast on WMMR 93.3 FM, Philadelphia.
This entire live performance was finally released on CD in 2010
as The Lost Broadcast. It features Bonnie Raitt singing and playing
acoustic slide guitar with her frequent collaborator Daniel Friedberg,
better known by the stage name Freebo, on bass guitar.
Bonnie Lynn Raitt (born November 8, 1949) is an American blues rock singer,
guitarist, and songwriter. In 1971, Raitt released her self-titled debut album.
Following this, she released a series of critically acclaimed roots-influenced
albums that incorporated elements of blues, rock, folk, and country.
She was also a frequent session player and collaborator with other artists,
including Warren Zevon, Little Feat, Jackson Browne, the Pointer Sisters,
John Prine, and Leon Russell. In 2000, Raitt was inducted into the Rock and
Roll Hall of Fame. As of 2023, Raitt has received 13 competitive Grammy
Awards, as well as a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award.
