"Song of the Day"

"Razor Boy" is a song recorded for Steely Dan's 1973 album
Countdown to Ecstasy. Written by Walter Becker and Donald Fagen,
it was also included as the B-side of "Show Biz Kids", the first single
released from the LP. "Razor Boy" is a bitter, ironic pop song with
lyrics that subtly criticize complacency and materialism. Jeff "Skunk"
Baxter plays pedal steel guitar on the song's instrumental solo.

Countdown to Ecstasy is the second studio album by the American
rock band Steely Dan, released in July 1973 by ABC Records. Although
it was a critical success, the album failed to generate a hit single,
and consequently charted at only number 35 on the Billboard 200.
