"The WASP (Texas Radio And The Big Beat)" was written by The Doors
with lyrics by Jim Morrison. The lyric is a reworking of a sample
of Morrison's poetry first appearing on the group's souvenir books
in 1968. The song was released on their 1971 album L.A. Woman.
L.A. Woman is the sixth studio album by the Doors, released in
April 1971 on Elektra Records. It is the last to feature lead
singer Jim Morrison during his lifetime due to his death three
months after the album's release. L.A. Woman peaked
at #9 on the Billboard 200 album chart.
