"Here Comes the Sun" is a song by the English rock band the Beatles
from their 1969 album Abbey Road. It was written by George Harrison
and is one of his best-known compositions for the Beatles. Though not
released as a single, the song attracted attention and critical praise.
"Here Comes the Sun" has been recorded by many artists, with the first
cover versions appearing soon after the release of Abbey Road. In May
1971, Richie Havens' version of the song peaked at #16 on the Billboard
Hot 100 in the US, giving him the highest-charting single of his career.
It was recorded live at The Cellar Door in Washington, D.C. and
released as the opening track on his 1971 album Alarm Clock.
Alarm Clock is the seventh studio album by the folk rock musician Richie
Havens. It was released in 1971 by Stormy Forest and was his highest
charting album, reaching #29 on the Billboard Top 200 in the US.
