Life and Times is the fourth studio album by American singer-songwriter
Jim Croce, released in January 1973. The album contains the hit single
"Bad, Bad Leroy Brown" and peaked at #7 on Billboard Magazine's
Pop 200 Albums chart. It was Croce's final album
to be released during his lifetime.
James Joseph "Jim" Croce (January 10, 1943 – September 20, 1973) was
an American singer-songwriter. Between 1966 and 1973, Croce released
five studio albums and 11 singles. His singles "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown"
and "Time in a Bottle" were both #1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 charts.
Croce was nominated for two 1973 Grammy awards in the "Pop Male Vocalist"
and "Record of the Year" categories for the song "Bad, Bad Leroy Brown".
On September 20, 1973, at the height of his popularity and the day before
the lead single to his fifth album, I Got a Name, was released, Croce,
guitarist Maury Muehleisen, and four others died in a plane crash.
His music continued to chart throughout the 1970s following his death.
