"Join Together" is a song by British rock band the Who, first released as
a non-album single in June 1972. The single was successful, peaking
at #9 on the British singles chart and #17 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
The song has since appeared on numerous compilation albums.
While the song was released in 1972, it was composed in 1970 and was
meant to be part of The Who’s second rock opera, the abandoned Lifehouse
project, that never materialized. Many of the songs originally slated for
Lifehouse were then included in the band's 1971 album Who’s Next,
but “Join Together” was released a year later as a non-album single.
